Hi, I’m Cassandra, the face behind BluLight Media. I’m so happy you’re here.

I’m a modern portrait and lifestyle photographer based in Hibbing, Minnesota — though my roots stretch from Lakewood, California to Chisholm, Minnesota, where I was raised. My approach to photography is simple: capture life as it truly is. I believe the best moments are the unposed ones — the laughter between frames, the wind in your hair, the quiet looks that say everything. My goal is to create images that feel alive — candid, natural, and full of soul.

My love for photography began early, nurtured by my parents and my Grandma Lee who gifted me countless cameras throughout my childhood — each one a little better than the last. What started as disposable film cameras and simple point-and-shoots slowly grew into a real passion for capturing the world around me. In 2020, I was gifted an older DSLR from the early 2000s, and that’s when everything changed — it taught me the foundations of working with a professional-grade camera and deepened my appreciation for the craft. By 2024, I took a leap and upgraded to a mirrorless camera, marking the beginning of a new chapter where my passion truly began to evolve into something greater.

I’ve built BluLight Media as both a creative outlet and a tribute. The name honors my beloved dog, Blu Marie, who’s been by my side for over nine years and inspired me to see the world through a softer, more meaningful lens.

When I’m not photographing, I’m exploring — traveling to new places, chasing sunsets, and finding beauty in every corner of the world. At home, I share life’s adventures with my partner and our three pups, often outdoors where I feel most connected and inspired.
